Imaginary Animal 2nd Edition. Rachelle Linda Escamilla is from San Benito County, California. She is the author of two books of poetry. In 2018 she was a visiting scholar at the Library of Congress, Hispanic Division, where she recorded her poems for the library’s archive, Palabra. While at the Library of Congress, Rachelle found her grandfather’s 1969 testimony for the fair treatment of migrant laborers in California as well as photographs of her family that were published in a book in 1970. Rachelle is currently working on a theater adaptation of Imaginary Animal with director Katherine Wilkinson. She lives in Monterey, California with her husband and daughter.
