A Slice of Life by Thom Gossom, Jr.

A Slice of Life mirrors the first season of life, reflected in a newly integrated Alabama of the 1960s and 70s.
Tommy will miss the big game if he doesn’t eat those dang “Cold Hard Grits.” A football dynasty permanently penalizes a father and a son in “Crimson Tide,” and a dimwitted army veteran has war flashbacks in “Everybody’s Crazy.”

Thom Gossom, Jr. is an actor and author. His memoir, WalkOn: My Reluctant Journey to Integration at Auburn University, is his story as the first African-American athlete to graduate from Auburn. Additional works include a critically acclaimed play, Speak Of Me As I Am, the blog As I SEE It, and contributions to The Birmingham News and The Birmingham Times.

The Slice of Life collection of life stories continues with Another Slice of Life and The Rest of The Pie.

On television, Gossom starred as Israel, the title character in the Emmy® winning NYPD Blue episode “Lost Israel.” Other television credits include Reckless, Drop Dead Diva, Game of Your Life, CSI, Boston Legal, ER, and Miss Ever’s Boys. Film credits include Fight Club and Jeepers Creepers 2.
